User Activity Picks Up on Core Network

On-chain activity on @Coredao_Org is quietly recovering. The network recorded 9,118 daily active users on August 16, up from 8,974 on August 7, and added 372 new users on that day alone. While the figures are modest in absolute terms, the directional shift matters for a chain that has been navigating a broader market slowdown.

Transaction volumes have remained resilient throughout. Over the past ten days, the network averaged between 48,000 and 54,000 transactions per day, with 48,150 logged on August 16. That consistency points to a user base that is actively engaging with the chain rather than sitting on the sidelines.

On the revenue front, Core earned $254.80 in fees over the last 30 days, a 4.4% increase from the prior period. The gain is incremental, but it reinforces the picture of gradually improving network fundamentals.

TVL Dip Does Not Tell the Full Story

Total value locked has fallen roughly 24%, which might appear to contradict the uptick in user numbers. However, declining TVL does not always signal weakening demand. In Core's case, the divergence between falling TVL and rising active users suggests that on-chain engagement is broadening even as liquidity consolidates.

Core DAO is the largest Bitcoin sidechain by TVL at $314.4 million, with 5,541 BTC staked, representing 26.4% of all Bitcoin sidechain TVL. That position at the top of the Bitcoin sidechain rankings gives the network a structural advantage as BTCFi interest continues to grow.

Core DAO is designed to enhance Bitcoin's utility in decentralised finance by integrating it with smart contract capabilities. It operates on the Core Chain, described as the first Bitcoin-aligned EVM blockchain, using a consensus mechanism known as Satoshi Plus. This mechanism merges Delegated Proof of Work, Delegated Proof of Stake, and Non-Custodial Bitcoin Staking, leveraging Bitcoin's security and decentralisation.

Looking further ahead, Core's 2026 roadmap moves away from burning a percentage of block rewards and fees. Instead, ecosystem revenue from BTCFi activities such as staking yields and liquid staking tokens will fund systematic $CORE token buybacks, aiming to create sustainable, demand-side pressure on token supply.

The combination of recovering user numbers, stable transaction throughput, and a shifting tokenomics model gives Core a more credible fundamental footing than the TVL headline alone would suggest. Whether that translates into sustained momentum will depend on how quickly the broader BTCFi ecosystem attracts new liquidity.
