Chainlink is accelerating institutional onchain finance

A Multi-Tool Integration

@Infosys, one of the world's largest IT services firms, has entered a collaboration with @Chainlink to bring its infrastructure into the digital assets space, in a move that could significantly accelerate the institutionalisation of onchain finance.

Infosys has entered a strategic partnership with Chainlink to standardise the adoption of oracle infrastructure across global banking and payment systems. The IT services giant, which supports critical financial infrastructure for over 1.7 billion customer accounts, will integrate multiple Chainlink components to connect major financial institutions to onchain markets.

The integration includes Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), Runtime Environment (CRE), Automated Compliance Engine (ACE), Proof of Reserve, Data Streams, and Data Feeds. Each component plays a distinct role in enabling institutions to participate in onchain markets without abandoning their existing systems.

At the core of Chainlink is the CRE, an orchestration layer that enables institutional-grade smart contracts covering complex financial workflows that operate across blockchains and offchain systems, addressing a key pain point of integrating existing systems with blockchains. CCIP handles interoperability across any public or private chain, while the Automated Compliance Engine (ACE) provides programmable compliance.

Bridging Legacy and Onchain Finance

The partnership is structured around a clear objective: building a direct bridge between traditional financial infrastructure and the onchain world. The collaboration aims to establish standardised infrastructure pathways for institutional participation in decentralised finance ecosystems.

The timing reflects a broader shift in how institutions are approaching blockchain. CCIP is Chainlink's universal standard for secure cross-chain communication, and since launching on mainnet in July 2023, it has evolved into a fully operational protocol connecting over 60 blockchain networks, serving as critical infrastructure for both decentralised finance and institutional adoption.

Chainlink is also the only data and interoperability oracle platform meeting key institutional security standards, including SOC 2 Type 2, SOC 2 Type 1, and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, validated by Big Four accounting firm Deloitte and Touche LLP. That compliance pedigree is likely a factor in Infosys choosing Chainlink as its infrastructure partner for this initiative.

The Infosys deal adds to a growing roster of institutional names integrating Chainlink's stack. Visa, ANZ, ChinaAMC, and Fidelity International have already completed a cross-border settlement solution powered by Chainlink, and under the Hong Kong Monetary Authority's e-HKD program, Chainlink enables secure transfers of regulated assets with automated compliance and atomic settlement.
