Jasmy Expands Secure PC for Japan's Insurance Sector

Jasmy has rolled out a significant upgrade to its Secure PC platform, consolidating cybersecurity, compliance, and IT management tools into a single solution aimed squarely at Japan's insurance agencies. The update strengthens ransomware defences, adds security assessments, IT asset management, and remote device controls, and supports software management, network monitoring, and security audit trails, giving agencies a unified dashboard for tasks that previously required multiple tools.

The timing is notable. Japan's National Police Agency confirmed 123 ransomware cases in the first half of 2026 alone, putting the country on pace to surpass its full-year record of 226 cases set in 2025. The insurance sector has not been immune. Insurer Aflac Japan suffered a data breach disclosing information about 4.38 million policyholders and the payment information of 230,000 customers. A separate incident saw Sompo Japan Insurance experience a significant data breach in early 2025, affecting approximately 7.27 million customers whose records contained personally identifiable information.

A Growing Market for Sector-Specific Security

Jasmy's push into the insurance vertical reflects a broader shift across Japan's corporate landscape. Japan's market expansion is driven by mandatory breach notification requirements, increasing ransomware threats, and corporate risk management priorities across critical sectors. The Japan cyber insurance market was valued at over $1 billion in 2025, and as cyberattacks in vital industries become more frequent and sophisticated, demand for protective solutions is growing quickly.

Jasmy's Secure PC platform, which uses blockchain technology and is developed by Jasmy Incorporated, headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, is positioning itself as a compliance-ready answer to those demands. Earlier iterations of the platform introduced features such as a Log Analyzer designed to help companies comply with the strict criteria of the Life Insurance Association of Japan, alongside a cloud-based web filtering option developed in collaboration with ALSI, a subsidiary of the Alps Alpine group. The latest upgrade builds on that foundation, adding deeper ransomware protection layers and the operational controls that agency compliance teams need.

Jasmy says the upgrade is a direct response to rising cybersecurity demands across Japan's insurance industry, an industry under pressure to demonstrate both data security and regulatory adherence to insurers, clients, and regulators alike.
