Plume Network Enters DTCC Tokenization Coalition

@PlumeNetwork has joined the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (@The_DTCC) Digital Assets Solutions Industry Working Group, adding an RWA-native blockchain to a coalition that is actively shaping how tokenized securities settle within traditional market infrastructure.

Plume Network is a modular blockchain purpose-built for tokenizing real-world assets (RWAs) and integrating them into decentralized finance in a compliant and composable way. The network joins the working group alongside institutional names including @CharlesSchwab, @Nasdaq, and @AlpacaHQ, contributing technical feedback on the DTCC Tokenization Service as the project moves toward launch.

More than 50 financial organizations from both established markets and emerging digital sectors have joined the DTCC Industry Working Group. The platform is engineered to convert traditional assets held in DTC custody, currently valued at over $114 trillion, into digital tokens while preserving every existing investor entitlement, legal safeguard, and ownership right.

October 2026 Launch on the Horizon

DTCC plans to facilitate the initial, limited production trades of real-world assets tokenized using DTC's tokenization service in July 2026 and then plans to launch the service in October 2026. In December 2025, DTC received a No-Action Letter from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) authorizing DTC to offer a defined tokenization service for DTC Participants and their clients for three years.

The DTCC's approach preserves the legal and regulatory framework of existing securities while enabling blockchain-native mobility, combining the protections of traditional market infrastructure with the efficiency gains of digital assets. Tokenization at this scale addresses structural problems that have constrained institutional markets, such as immobilized assets and settlement friction. Collateral that moves atomically rather than on T+1 or T+2 cycles reduces the need to over-collateralize as a timing buffer.

Plume's inclusion reflects its growing footprint in institutional RWA infrastructure. In October 2025, Plume became one of the first blockchain-native entities registered by the SEC as a transfer agent, meaning Plume can legally manage shareholder records, process ownership changes, and report cap tables directly to the SEC and DTCC. The DTCC working group membership builds on that regulatory foundation, positioning Plume as a technical bridge between on-chain tokenization rails and the post-trade systems that underpin global capital markets.
