A Big-Tech Hire for a Growing Blockchain Platform

Ripple has brought on Brian Beck as Director of Developer Relations, placing him inside the RippleX Ecosystem Growth team with a mandate to attract and support builders on the XRP Ledger. According to Beck's LinkedIn profile, he joined Ripple in August 2026.

Prior to Ripple, Beck worked at PayPal for over eight years across several senior engineering positions, most recently serving as Director of Engineering for Developer Experience. He was responsible for more than 10 million live PayPal integrations, and his team modernized developer documentation, onboarding systems, developer advocacy, merchant sandbox tools, and APIs. Before PayPal, Beck also held a position at Google, giving Ripple a hire with experience spanning two of the world's most prominent technology companies.

What Beck Will Own at Ripple

At Ripple, Beck is responsible for developer advocacy, technical enablement, developer documentation, tooling, onboarding programs, sample code, hackathons, XRPL developer grants, developer partnerships, and feedback loops between builders and RippleX's product teams.

In the Director of Developer Relations role within the RippleX Ecosystem Growth team, he will build and lead the team responsible for how developers discover, onboard, build, and scale financial applications on the XRP Ledger, enabling businesses, institutions, and governments to drive adoption for use cases including asset tokenization, institutional DeFi, and next-generation payment infrastructure.

The hire fits squarely into Ripple's broader 2026 strategy. Since 2021, RippleX ecosystem efforts have included hackathons, builder bounties, XRPL Grants, and the XRPL Accelerator, supporting nearly 200 projects worldwide across developer infrastructure, payments, DeFi, tokenization, AI, gaming, and enterprise financial applications. 2026 marks a shift toward a more distributed model, where independent organizations, regional hubs, venture partners, and community-led initiatives play a larger role in supporting builders. Beck's appointment signals that developer experience and retention are central to that ambition.
