Fee Records Stack Up as Activity Surges

Robinhood (@RobinhoodCrypto) Chain posted a daily fee record of $6 million on September 4, capping a week of extraordinary growth. The chain generated roughly $25 million in fees over seven days, up sharply from just $1.4 million the prior week. That represents a 17-fold increase in a matter of days.

Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum Layer 2 network built on Arbitrum's Orbit stack. It launched its public mainnet on July 1, 2026, with fast block times and native support for tokenized stocks and stablecoins. Despite being just two months old, it has already outpaced more established networks on daily fee metrics. According to data from DeFiLlama, the chain placed ahead of both Ethereum mainnet and Coinbase's Base on at least one recent single-day comparison.

The fee surge coincided with a sharp rise in decentralized exchange activity. Weekly DEX volume reached $12.4 billion, more than double the previous week.

Pons Drives the Bulk of On-Chain Revenue

Much of the activity can be traced to a single application. Pons ($PONS) is the native governance and utility token for a non-custodial token launchpad built on Robinhood Chain, designed to democratize token creation and capture value from platform activity. Pons is not an official Robinhood product. It is a separate, non-custodial protocol built by Pons Labs, LLC that chose to deploy on Robinhood Chain.

Pons drove much of the fee increase, generating nearly $6 million in fees on September 3 as activity accelerated. Anyone can deploy a fixed-supply memecoin on the platform in about thirty seconds with no code. On August 30, 2026 it minted 22,581 new tokens in a single day. More than 167,000 tokens are already live on the Pons launchpad.

The protocol uses a share of trading fees to automatically buy back and burn $PONS tokens, creating a deflationary mechanism tied to platform usage. That tokenomic structure has helped fuel strong price action. The $PONS token itself gained more than 200% in the past week, while PONS's valuation topped $970 million.

The broader question is whether momentum holds. Pons's lead is not guaranteed to last. A 90-day gas waiver that made cheap, high-frequency launches possible is set to expire around the end of September, and competition from other launchpads is increasing.
