Base is becoming a force in the RWA space
Base Network has surpassed 65,000 RWA wallets, carving out a growing share of the tokenized real-world asset market as users tap its fast, low-cost infrastructure.
Base Clears 65K RWA Wallet Milestone
@Base has crossed the 65,000 wallet threshold for real-world asset (RWA) activity, a figure that underscores how quickly Coinbase's Layer 2 network is gaining traction in one of crypto's fastest-growing sectors. Performance metrics show Base capturing a meaningful share of on-chain RWA activity, driven by users bringing tokenized assets to its fast, high-throughput environment and its comparatively low transaction costs.
The timing is notable. On-chain real-world assets reached $34.18 billion by September 15, 2026, up 85.2% year-to-date, according to Binance Research. Bonds and money market funds led at $18.29 billion, while tokenized equities surged 390.4% year-to-date to $4.43 billion. Base is positioning itself to capture a portion of that growth as issuers and retail participants alike look for efficient settlement rails.
Why Base Is Attracting RWA Activity
Base network is worth considering for lower transaction fees when accessing RWA platforms, according to infrastructure guides aimed at retail participants. That cost advantage, combined with the network's throughput, makes it a practical choice for the kind of high-frequency, smaller-ticket tokenization activity that is increasingly drawing users away from Ethereum mainnet.
Over the last 30 days, the number of wallets holding a tokenized asset grew 56.11%, to 1,629,406, illustrating that the RWA market is scaling primarily by adding holders rather than simply adding dollars. Base's wallet growth aligns with that broader trend. Tokenized stocks on Base reached $100 million in daily decentralized exchange volume, a signal that the network is not just attracting passive holders but active traders of tokenized instruments.
The competitive landscape remains intense. RWA.xyz data at the end of August 2026 placed approximately $17.3 billion in tokenized RWA value on Ethereum, excluding stablecoins, ahead of every other individual blockchain network. But Layer 2 solutions built on top of Ethereum, Base among them, are actively chipping away at that dominance by offering cheaper and faster execution without abandoning Ethereum's security guarantees.
With the 65K wallet milestone now behind it, Base's next test will be whether it can deepen liquidity and attract institutional-grade issuers alongside its growing retail base, a combination that would cement its position as a genuine RWA destination rather than simply a lower-cost alternative.
