U.S. Federal Crypto Bank Chooses LayerZero for Cross-Chain Regulated Stablecoins
Anchorage Digital, the only federally chartered crypto bank in the United States, has selected LayerZero as its official interoperability provider to enable cross-chain issuance of regulated stablecoins across more than 170 blockchains.
@Anchorage Digital, the United States' only federally chartered crypto bank, has selected @LayerZero_Core as its official interoperability provider for stablecoin issuance. The deal marks a significant step in bringing federally regulated digital dollars to a broad range of blockchain networks under a single compliance framework.
OFT Standard to Connect 170-Plus Blockchains
The partnership will use @LayerZero_Core's Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT) protocol to enable regulated stablecoins, including $USAT, $USDPT, and $USDGO, to move seamlessly across more than 170 blockchains. LayerZero's omnichain infrastructure powers liquid stablecoin use across networks and supports emerging "agentic finance" use cases. By adopting the OFT standard, Anchorage is creating a single issuance layer that can serve institutions on virtually any major chain without requiring separate deployments or custody arrangements for each network.
The partnership follows months of regulatory alignment to ensure that cross-chain operations meet the security and compliance standards required of a federally chartered institution. Anchorage Digital Bank is the only crypto-native bank in the U.S. to hold a federal charter, operating under the direct oversight of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). As a federally chartered trust bank, Anchorage Digital Bank operates under a single regulatory framework with federal oversight from the OCC, eliminating the need for fragmented state-by-state licensing.
Growing Stablecoin Pipeline
The LayerZero announcement comes as Anchorage continues to expand its regulated stablecoin business at pace. As many as 20 financial institutions and large tech companies are in a queue to issue their own stablecoins, with Anchorage Digital CEO Nathan McCauley stating at Consensus Miami 2026 that "since the Genius Act passed, Anchorage has won every single large stablecoin issuance mandate across the landscape."
OSL Group, the issuer of $USDGO, noted that issuing under Anchorage Digital Bank, the first federally chartered crypto bank in the U.S., provides "regulatory clarity" and strengthens its ability to unlock the potential of digital assets in the real global economy. Similarly, Western Union has launched $USDPT as a federally regulated digital dollar through the Anchorage platform.
With the LayerZero integration, each of these stablecoins gains the ability to travel natively across hundreds of chains, removing the fragmentation that has historically limited institutional adoption of cross-chain digital assets. For Anchorage, the move reinforces its position as the primary regulated infrastructure layer for institutions looking to issue and distribute compliant stablecoins at scale.
