Bitcoin ETFs snap four-day outflow streak, but only BlackRock showed up
US spot Bitcoin ETFs posted a net $32.11M inflow on Wednesday, ending a four-session skid. BlackRock's IBIT carried the day with $89.83M while Fidelity's FBTC and Ark's ARKB remained in the red.
IBIT Carries the Complex
US spot Bitcoin ETFs returned to positive territory on Wednesday, pulling in a net $32.11M according to SoSoValue data. The gain ended a four-session outflow streak that had drained roughly $527M from the products. The recovery, however, leaned heavily on a single name: @BlackRock's $IBIT.
$IBIT absorbed $89.83M on the day, carrying the entire complex into the green. Fidelity's $FBTC shed $43.08M and Ark's $ARKB lost $14.64M, with the rest of the field sitting flat. When institutional money decides it wants Bitcoin exposure, IBIT tends to be where it lands. The fund launched in January 2024 and has since grown into the largest spot Bitcoin ETF by assets under management, with BlackRock's existing relationships with pension funds, endowments, and wealth managers giving the product a distribution advantage that competitors are still working against.
Volatile Backdrop, Modest Recovery
The Wednesday print came against a choppy recent backdrop. Bitcoin ETFs recorded $465.26M in outflows across the final two sessions of the prior week, ending a seven-day winning streak, though the funds still managed their third consecutive week of net inflows. That modestly positive trajectory throughout July follows eight consecutive weeks of outflows dating back to the week ended May 15.
The collective funds now hold $77.46B, just over 6% of Bitcoin's entire market cap. Research cited in prior 2026 ETF coverage estimates that flows from the ETF creation and redemption mechanism now explain approximately 45% of weekly Bitcoin price moves, meaning the daily flow ledger is not merely a record of investor sentiment, but a structural driver of where Bitcoin actually trades. BlackRock has framed Bitcoin to clients as a potential hedge against US debt concerns and broader macroeconomic volatility, language that resonates in an environment where traditional safe-haven assets are producing mixed results.
