German tokenization firm Cashlink adds Avalanche for institutional securities issuance
Frankfurt-based Cashlink, a BaFin-licensed crypto securities registrar, is expanding its multi-chain platform to include Avalanche, giving German financial institutions a new network for issuing and managing token-based securities.
A Regulated Platform Expands Its Network Reach
Frankfurt-based Cashlink Technologies, one of Germany's few BaFin-licensed crypto securities registrars, has added @avax to its institutional tokenization platform. The move allows financial institutions to issue and manage token-based securities on Avalanche using the same regulated infrastructure they already use on other networks.
The company has passed €1 billion in transaction volume and now counts more than 300 live issuances on its platform. Its client roster includes KfW, NRW.BANK, DZ Bank, and Helaba, a cross-section of major German institutional lenders.
Cashlink acts as a BaFin-licensed registrar, ensuring legally compliant registry management. Its work with state development banks includes KfW's first token-based bond in 2024, where Cashlink served as the appointed registrar. More recently, NRW.BANK issued a €100 million blockchain-based bond, registered through Cashlink's BaFin-regulated infrastructure.
A Multi-Chain Strategy, Not a Single Bet
Avalanche is not Cashlink's first network addition. The company already has a partnership with Polygon and took a strategic stake in Stellar in April 2026, bringing its total to three major networks, each serving different institutional audiences.
Positioning as a neutral, multi-chain provider is a deliberate strategic choice. Cashlink is not betting on one blockchain winning the institutional tokenization race outright. Instead, it is building the layer that sits above the competition, letting clients pick their preferred network without changing platforms.
CEO Michael Duttlinger pointed to Avalanche's grasp of what regulated financial markets actually require as the rationale for the integration. Olivia Vande Woude from Ava Labs flagged the commitment to secure infrastructure as central to the partnership's appeal.
The broader backdrop is a European market that has grown more receptive to tokenized securities. Germany's Electronic Securities Act, which came into force in 2021, created the legal basis for crypto securities to exist without paper certificates, giving regulated firms like Cashlink a clear statutory framework to operate within. Avalanche itself has increasingly evolved into a platform for real-world asset tokenization and enterprise deployment, with Ava Labs targeting financial institutions and public sector use cases through its AvaCloud offering.
