Chainlink Reserve added 462,730 LINK in August, taking total holdings past 5.67 million
The Chainlink Reserve added 462,730 LINK tokens in August 2026, worth over $4.4 million, pushing cumulative holdings to 5.67 million as the program marks its first full year.
The Chainlink Reserve added 462,730 $LINK tokens during August 2026, valued at more than $4.4 million, bringing cumulative holdings to 5,673,707 LINK. The acquisition marks the reserve's largest monthly total since the program launched and pushes the pool well past the 5.67 million milestone.
How the Reserve Is Funded
The Chainlink Reserve is a strategic onchain reserve of LINK tokens designed to support the network's long-term growth and sustainability. It is funded via Payment Abstraction, which programmatically converts offchain revenue from enterprise adoption and onchain service usage into LINK. In practice, that means @chainlink directs fees paid by large institutional clients, as well as usage fees from decentralized applications, into the reserve rather than distributing them elsewhere.
The reserve accumulates LINK using revenue from both fees paid by large institutions for Chainlink's services and on-chain usage fees from decentralized applications, and those payments are then automatically converted into LINK through Chainlink's services and decentralized exchanges.
Steady Growth Since Launch
The strategic treasury launched on August 7, 2025 as part of Chainlink's Economics 2.0 upgrades, meaning this month's additions arrive almost exactly at the one-year mark. Growth has been steady since launch: the Reserve crossed 1 million LINK by early December 2025, passed 1.4 million by early January 2026, reached roughly 2.3 million by late February, and climbed past 3.9 million by late May.
Chainlink said it does not expect any withdrawals from the reserve for "multiple years," and the balance is expected to grow as more enterprise revenue is directed on-chain. The tokens held in the reserve sit in a time-locked Ethereum contract at address ethereum:0x514910771af9ca656af840dff83e8264ecf986ca, and the reserve's public dashboard at reserve.chain.link tracks every addition in real time.
The scale of accumulation reflects the broader revenue base @chainlink has built. Demand for Chainlink has already created hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue, substantially from large enterprises that have paid offchain for access to the Chainlink Platform. Chainlink is the default oracle for on-chain finance, with roughly 68 to 70 percent of oracle value secured, more than 2,400 integrations, and a client list that includes Swift, DTCC, UBS, Mastercard, Fidelity, and State Street.
