Avalanche Just Got a New Privacy Layer For Onchain Finance
COTI has launched its Privacy-on-Demand infrastructure and Privacy Portal on Avalanche C-Chain, enabling private computation and encrypted token transactions for $AVAX and USDC holders.
COTI ($COTI) has gone live on Avalanche with its Privacy-on-Demand infrastructure, marking the first time Avalanche applications can access fully encrypted token transactions without users ever leaving the Avalanche ecosystem.
What the Launch Includes
The rollout, which took place on September 16, 2026, covers two components. First, the Privacy-on-Demand infrastructure layer gives developers the ability to process sensitive data privately while keeping assets and smart contracts on Avalanche C-Chain. Second, the COTI Privacy Portal is now live, initially supporting $AVAX and USDC. The portal is built for people who are not cryptographers, with one-click shield and unshield operations letting users privately hold, send, and receive tokens through a straightforward interface.
Under the hood, COTI uses Garbled Circuits-based Multi-Party Computation, a cryptographic method that allows calculations to run on encrypted data without ever exposing the underlying values. Inputs are processed off the host chain, and results return as ciphertext, which the user's client then decrypts locally. The blockchain itself never sees the raw numbers. COTI claims its Garbled Circuits implementation is 3,000 times faster and 250 times lighter than comparable alternatives.
The Avalanche launch represents the first cross-chain extension of that infrastructure, and the project's stated direction is explicitly multi-chain. The approach is designed to plug into existing Ethereum Virtual Machine stacks without requiring developers or enterprises to overhaul their current setups.
Use Cases and Institutional Angle
COTI is positioning the technology toward institutional and enterprise users. The project frames its solution around selective disclosure, meaning users can share transaction data with auditors, regulators, or counterparties when required, while keeping it encrypted by default. Target verticals include confidential payments, private DeFi activity, payroll processing, and real-world asset transactions.
This Avalanche rollout is not COTI's first step. The project launched its initial Privacy Portal on COTI's own mainnet in May and June of 2026, establishing the technical baseline before extending to external chains. The timing of the Avalanche launch was also deliberate: COTI participated in Avalanche Summit 2026 in New York from September 16 to 17, with Chief Marketing Officer Amateo Kaplan presenting and demonstrating Privacy-on-Demand during discussions about onchain finance and privacy infrastructure for businesses.
For Avalanche, the integration adds a meaningful privacy capability to an ecosystem that has grown steadily as a destination for institutional DeFi and tokenized assets. For COTI, it is a concrete step in a broader multi-chain expansion strategy.
