Kraken Opens a Direct USDC Bridge to Injective
Kraken has added native USDC deposits and withdrawals on Injective, giving users a direct path between the exchange and the network. Capital can now flow between Kraken and Injective without routing through another blockchain or relying on wrapped tokens.
The integration removes a step that previously added friction for traders moving stablecoins onchain. Kraken users can withdraw USDC directly to an Injective address and deposit it back through the same network, streamlining access to Injective's onchain markets. The launch expands a relationship that already includes $INJ trading, staking, and validator infrastructure.
Why Native USDC Matters for Injective
The Kraken integration builds on a broader shift for Injective that began in May 2026. USDC and Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) went live on Injective mainnet, giving the network a regulated dollar asset issued directly by Circle rather than through a bridge. USDC works across both Wasm and EVM execution environments through the MultiVM Token Standard pioneered by Injective.
Injective is the first blockchain purpose-built for finance, providing foundational infrastructure for global markets with embedded financial primitives spanning stablecoins, real-world assets, payments, and programmable perpetuals. The integration allows Injective users to use dollar-denominated collateral across trading, lending, derivatives, and a wide range of decentralized finance applications.
CCTP handles cross-chain movement by burning USDC on the source chain and minting it on the destination chain, maintaining Circle's reserve backing throughout. The mechanism avoids the lock-and-mint model used by traditional bridges, which has been the source of billions of dollars in exploit losses across the industry. Kraken also operates an institutional validator on Injective, while native USDC adds direct dollar liquidity for tokenized assets and applications.
