Juris Protocol Founder Writes Open Letter: LUNC Must Build or Perish

A Blunt Warning to the Terra Classic Community

@JurisProtocol founder Puya has published an open letter to the Terra Classic community, delivering a pointed message: $LUNC must commit to real development or risk wasting what little goodwill and capital it has left. The letter pulls no punches. "The network can't recover from politics, noise and waiting for Binance or others," Puya writes, framing external dependency as one of the community's most self-defeating habits.

The backdrop is well-documented. In May 2022, Terra's algorithmic stablecoin TerraUSD (UST) lost its dollar peg, triggering a death spiral that hyper-inflated LUNA's supply from millions to trillions of tokens and erased tens of billions in value. The ecosystem executed a hard fork, creating Terra 2.0. The original chain was rebranded as Terra Classic, its token renamed Luna Classic (LUNC), and it was abandoned by its original developers, leaving it entirely community-run.

Puya draws on the example of Lee Kuan Yew, arguing that what remains of the community's capital must be deployed purposefully into infrastructure: lending platforms, liquidity pools, cross-chain bridges, developer tooling, and an on-chain economy capable of sustaining itself. The message is less about hope and more about execution.

Project Flywheel Goes L1-Agnostic, Juris Presses On

The letter also carries a structural announcement. Project Flywheel, previously tied closely to Terra Classic, will become L1-agnostic and an opt-in component of the broader Juris Protocol ecosystem. The move signals that @JurisProtocol is positioning itself for a wider remit, regardless of whether the LUNC community rallies behind it.

Juris Protocol is a decentralized lending and borrowing platform built directly on the Terra Classic blockchain, aiming to bring back Anchor-like features with modern improvements, security enhancements, and a better user experience. The protocol is stepping up to rebuild the Terra Classic DeFi ecosystem with institutional-grade lending and borrowing markets, and is developing an IBC bridge to enable cross-chain liquidity flow with the broader Cosmos ecosystem.

Despite limited community support, Puya confirms the lending platform will continue building. The community's broader focus in 2026 is on rebuilding fundamental utility, with key initiatives including Market Module 2.0, proposals to restore the USTC stablecoin, and native protocols like Juris Protocol driving modest growth in on-chain activity and total value locked (TVL).

The tone of the letter is deliberate: resurrection, if it comes, will be the result of those who are executing, not those who are waiting. For a chain that has spent years navigating internal politics and broken promises, Puya's letter is as much a line in the sand as it is a rallying call.
