S&P Global led a strategic investment that extended Kaiko's Series B to $110 million
S&P Global has led a strategic investment in crypto data provider Kaiko, extending its Series B to $110 million. BNP Paribas, Nasdaq Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, and others joined the round, backing Kaiko's push into tokenized market data infrastructure.
A Who's Who of Traditional and Digital Finance
S&P Global has led a strategic investment in crypto data provider @KaikoData, extending its Series B funding round to $110 million. The round drew an unusually broad coalition of backers spanning traditional finance and digital assets. BNP Paribas, Bpifrance, @Broadridge, @CantonFdn, @cbventures, DRW Venture Capital, Nasdaq Ventures, Royal Bank of Canada, @StellarOrg, and Susquehanna Private Equity Investments also participated, alongside existing shareholders Anthemis, Point Nine, and Revaia.
Kaiko previously raised $53 million in its Series B in June 2022. The company did not disclose its valuation for the latest investment.
"Digital asset markets operate 24/7, and the infrastructure supporting them must do the same," Kaiko said, adding that the funding demonstrates that institutions running today's capital markets are investing in the data infrastructure required to operate tokenized markets.
Setting the Standards for Tokenized Markets
Alongside the investment, participating institutions have joined a Strategic Industry Working Group chaired by Kaiko, which gives them a direct role in shaping the data and infrastructure used to bring tokenized products into production. Kaiko said the fresh capital will be used to support its core market data business and expand its data infrastructure offering for onchain capital markets.
The fundraise comes on the back of an active acquisition run. Kaiko recently completed two major acquisitions: Cometh, a MiCA/CASP-regulated provider of DeFi infrastructure, and Amberdata, a digital asset market data provider and Kaiko's former largest U.S. competitor. These two acquisitions, alongside the recent launch of the S&P Kaiko Digital Asset Indices suite and its ongoing data collaboration with Bloomberg, expand Kaiko's U.S. footprint and its technical and regulatory capabilities.
Kaiko provides market data for digital assets and says it covers more than 150 exchanges and protocols. The scale of institutional names backing this round signals that demand for regulated, high-quality data infrastructure in tokenized markets is moving from a niche interest to a mainstream institutional priority.
