Lisk and Zcash Lead today's trending assets
LSK surges over 8% in seven days despite Lisk Chain shutting down on October 31, while ZEC trends on CoinGecko amid whale accumulation and a recently launched spot ETF.
Two names are leading CoinGecko's trending list on September 14: @Lisk's $LSK token and Zcash's $ZEC. Both are moving for very different reasons.
LSK Surges as Lisk Chain Prepares to Close
$LSK has climbed more than 8% over the past seven days, a counterintuitive move given the circumstances. Lisk, one of the earliest blockchain projects, announced it will officially shut down its chain on October 31, 2026, ending a 10-year run. Any LSK tokens remaining on the native chain after that date will become inaccessible.
The rally appears to be driven by a combination of supply dynamics and forced migration activity. Catalysts include a full product rebrand, a 100 million LSK supply burn, a new stablecoin infrastructure layer, and a defined migration deadline that is forcing every on-chain holder to act now. The resulting demand spike caught short sellers off guard, triggering a wave of liquidations.
The team has been clear about the deadline. Users are advised to bridge assets to Ethereum via Superbridge or Lisk Bridge, a process requiring at least seven days. Holders with LSK staked on the chain must bridge their tokens to Ethereum by October 21, 2026, to account for the unstaking and bridging periods before the October 31 cutoff. The token, LSK, itself is not being discontinued. The project is shifting focus to real-world assets, repositioning as a corporate treasury platform on Ethereum and Base.
ZEC Trending on Whale Accumulation
$ZEC has also secured a spot on CoinGecko's trending list, supported by significant on-chain buying activity. A whale wallet accumulated 36,360 $ZEC, worth roughly $41.6 million, from Binance, OKX, Kraken, and Gate over the past six days, according to Onchain Lens.
The broader backdrop for Zcash has strengthened considerably in 2026. The Grayscale Zcash ETF launched on NYSE Arca on August 25, 2026, providing U.S. investors with regulated access and boosting institutional credibility. Meanwhile, the Zcash roadmap includes private NFTs, tokenized assets, and marketplaces through Zcash Shielded Assets, subject to continued development and adoption. That NFT-related development pipeline adds another catalyst for traders watching the token.
With both assets appearing on trending lists for contrasting reasons, one driven by an end-of-chain deadline and one by institutional inflows and accumulation, the market is clearly finding opportunity in very different narratives simultaneously.
