Monad is edging closer to the $1 billion milestone
Monad has hit a new all-time high of $963 million in total value locked, putting the high-throughput Layer 1 blockchain just $37 million short of the $1 billion mark as DeFi liquidity returns.

The network now sits just $37 million short of the $1 billion mark, a milestone that would represent a significant moment in the protocol's short history.
The timing aligns with a broader recovery in global crypto markets, with renewed risk appetite pushing capital toward high-performance Layer 1 networks. As recently as late August 2026, TVL on Monad had already reached $947 million, with liquidity providers and partnerships cited as key drivers of that growth.
A Fast Climb From Launch
Monad's ascent has been rapid. The network launched its mainnet in late November 2025. By early April 2026, TVL stood at roughly $355 million, up more than 55% since the beginning of February, making Monad the fastest Layer 1 blockchain to reach $300 million TVL in recent years. Major DeFi platforms including Uniswap, Curve, and Morpho have since deployed on Monad's infrastructure, adding depth and credibility to its ecosystem. By late July 2026, DeFi TVL had crossed $770 million, stablecoin supply exceeded $550 million, and the network was processing around 3.5 million transactions daily, with over 150 applications already built on it.
Why Parallel Execution Matters
The growing interest in Monad is closely tied to its core architectural design. Unlike Ethereum's sequential processing, Monad executes multiple transactions simultaneously, significantly boosting throughput. The network is designed to deliver 10,000 transactions per second, sub-second finality, and full EVM compatibility. This means developers can deploy existing Ethereum applications on Monad without changes, while benefiting from materially faster and cheaper execution.
Parallel execution, pipelined consensus, and an optimized state engine create a low-latency environment built for advanced DeFi. Monad uses optimistic concurrency: it predicts non-overlapping state access, executes transactions in parallel, and replays only the conflicting subset. The result is Ethereum-compatible semantics at a fraction of the latency. As on-chain activity continues to build and the $1 billion TVL threshold comes into view, Monad's infrastructure is being tested at a scale that few EVM-compatible chains have reached this early in their lifecycle.
