Near Intent Adoption is unreal

NEAR Protocol's Intents framework has surpassed $4.06 billion in 30-day transaction volume, highlighting rapid adoption of intent-based cross-chain transactions that let users define outcomes rather than routes.

@NEARProtocol's @near_intents framework has recorded more than $4.06 billion in transaction volume over the past 30 days, a figure that underlines just how quickly intent-based execution is moving from concept to mainstream infrastructure.

What NEAR Intents Actually Does

The premise is straightforward. NEAR Intents is a multichain transaction protocol where users specify what they want and let third parties compete to provide the best solution. In practice, that means no manual bridge selection, no gas management across multiple networks, and no need to understand the routing mechanics underneath. NEAR Intents allows users to specify a desired outcome, like swapping assets across different chains, without manually managing bridges or gas fees on each network, while competing solvers execute these requests in the background.

The framework is built on NEAR Protocol's broader chain abstraction vision. Leveraging NEAR Protocol's chain abstraction technology, NEAR Intents seamlessly integrates multiple blockchain networks without relying on traditional bridges, reducing associated risks, costs, and wait times. Key integrations include Solana, TRON (particularly useful for stablecoin transfers), and Zcash for privacy-focused transactions.

A Growth Curve That Keeps Steepening

The 30-day volume milestone sits inside a broader growth story that has accelerated consistently. It took 305 days for NEAR Intents to reach its first $1 billion in all-time volume, but just 71 days later it hit $5 billion, and by January 2026 the protocol crossed $10 billion after processing over 15.7 million swaps. NEAR Intents has since hit $20 billion in all-time transaction volume, according to data from June 2026.

The platform has processed over 25 million swaps to date, integrating with anywhere from 25 to more than 70 chains and assets. On the fee side, over the past 30 days, NEAR Intents generated $4.05 million in fees, of which $911,826 was protocol revenue.

The protocol's tokenomics have also shifted to reflect this growth. On February 23, 2026, the NEAR Intents fee conversion mechanism activated, directing 100% of Intents fees into open-market $NEAR purchases. Analysts have identified a deflationary threshold around $177 million in daily Intents volume, above which NEAR becomes net deflationary.

Looking ahead, it is expected that Intents may see adoption beyond its DeFi roots as more financial institutions come on-chain and recognize the utility of Intents for clearing and settlement, OTC trading, and other traditional finance use cases.
