Pi Wallet Now Shows Live Smart Contract Activity

@PiCoreTeam has rolled out smart contract visibility inside the Pi Wallet on testnet, giving everyday users a direct view of contract execution on their mobile devices for the first time. The update is live on Pi Testnet, where pioneers can observe smart contract actions using Test-Pi, the network's testnet currency.

Smart contracts became visible inside Pi Network testnet wallets on August 27, showing live functions tied to BNPi, a booking application built on the network. The testnet activity showed two specific functions in action: server_auto_release and release_booking_escrow. Under this system, funds are placed into escrow at the time of booking, then released automatically to hosts once a guest checks in. The move marks the first time retail users, not just developers, can watch contract logic play out directly within their wallet interface.

Protocol 27 Mainnet Upgrade Targeted for September 15

The testnet visibility update is part of a broader infrastructure push ahead of a major network milestone. Protocol 27 introduces more flexible and secure smart contract authentication capabilities, enabling more advanced transaction authorization for accounts and applications on Pi's blockchain. It is currently deployed on Pi Testnet with a mainnet upgrade target of September 15, 2026.

Pi Network began deploying Protocol 27 to Testnet 1 on August 21, with a target mainnet upgrade on September 15, 2026. The protocol adds more flexible and secure smart contract authentication and prepares infrastructure for RPC servers, DEX functions, and AMM liquidity pools.

Testing is underway on Testnet 1, followed by Testnet 2, before the planned mainnet rollout.
