@Strategy has added another 950 $BTC to its balance sheet, paying $75.7 million at an average price of $79,670 per coin, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission dated September 21, 2026.

Holdings Cross 846,000 BTC

The purchase brings Strategy's total Bitcoin holdings to 846,000 $BTC, acquired at a cumulative cost of $63.8 billion and an average price of $75,416 per coin. The move confirms that the company, formerly known as MicroStrategy, has not stepped back from its core Bitcoin treasury strategy despite a volatile year for crypto markets.

Strategy has been one of the most active corporate buyers of Bitcoin in 2026. In June, the company purchased 1,550 BTC for approximately $101 million, bringing holdings at that point to 845,256 BTC. The latest tranche pushes the total above 846,000 coins, cementing its position as the largest known corporate holder of Bitcoin.

STRC Buyback Runs Alongside Spot Accumulation

Alongside the Bitcoin purchase, Strategy also deployed $174 million to repurchase 1,771,238 shares of its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock, known as STRC, covering the period from September 14 to September 20, 2026. No shares of Class A common stock were sold through the company's at-the-market (ATM) programme during the same period, meaning the equity position remained intact.

The STRC buyback is part of a broader Digital Credit Securities Repurchase Program launched in June 2026. Strategy has said it intends to be a "regular and disciplined" purchaser of STRC while it trades below its $100 stated value, with the pace of repurchases expected to be higher at deeper discounts and to taper as the price approaches par. As of September 20, approximately $875 million remained available under the repurchase programme.

The dual move, buying spot Bitcoin while retiring discounted preferred stock, reflects a two-track capital allocation approach. Strategy maintains a separate USD Reserve to cover preferred dividend payments and debt obligations, and funds STRC repurchases from other sources, which may include ATM proceeds or, in certain conditions, Bitcoin sales.
