@NEARProtocol has switched on limit orders for NEAR Intents, giving users direct control over their swap price across more than 30 blockchains. The feature is available to any wallet or app through the protocol's 1Click Swap API and went live on September 21, 2026.

How the Limit Order Feature Works

With the update, users set a target price and submit their order. Orders can be filled in parts rather than requiring a single counterparty to take the full amount, and they remain open for up to seven days by default. The flexibility on partial fills means a large order can be satisfied incrementally as liquidity becomes available, reducing the pressure to accept a worse rate just to get a trade done.

According to the NEAR Intents developer documentation, the 1Click Swap API is a REST interface that automates routing and settlement. It requests quotes from market makers, constructs the swap, and tracks execution, with assets moving to a quote-specific deposit address and settling on-chain. The API does not take custody of user funds at any point.

Confidential Execution and What Comes Next

Every limit order placed through NEAR Intents runs as a confidential swap. NEAR's Confidential Intents framework executes swaps in a restricted-visibility environment before settlement, designed to limit MEV and front-running. Because transaction details are processed privately before being finalised on-chain, bots cannot read a pending order and trade ahead of it, a common problem in public DeFi markets.

The confidential model also supports selective disclosure, meaning users can provide auditable proof to regulators without exposing their full trading history publicly. That compliance-aware design has been seen as a meaningful step toward attracting institutional flow to on-chain venues.

A native integration for the near.com app is in development and expected to follow. Once live, it will bring the limit order functionality directly to users of NEAR's own interface without requiring a third-party wallet or API connection.

The 1Click Swap API is already embedded across a growing list of wallets and apps. Earlier this year, Unstoppable Wallet integrated the API across its app, Telegram bot, and web interface, and NEAR Intents has previously enabled cross-chain coverage for networks including Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin, Arbitrum, Base, and Starknet.
