WLFI holders are voting on whether voting should pay...
World Liberty Financial has opened a live governance vote on a staking rewards program for $WLFI holders. Tokens must be locked for 180 days and holders must vote regularly to earn payouts from the treasury and protocol fees.
World Liberty Financial Opens Live Vote on Staking Rewards
@worldlibertyfi has put a governance staking program to a community vote, with results so far showing the $WLFI holder base almost evenly divided. As of the time of writing, early tallies stand at 48.8% in favour and 47.75% against. Voting closes on September 28.
Under the proposed program, participants would stake unlocked $WLFI in a non-custodial on-chain protocol for at least 180 days, and must vote directly on at least one ecosystem governance proposal every 90 days to remain eligible for rewards. The minimum activity requirement is designed to ensure that staking rewards flow only to genuinely engaged holders, not passive ones.
Variable Rewards, No Fixed Rate
Payouts carry no fixed rate. Instead, they draw from a pool funded by the World Liberty Financial treasury and fees generated through World Liberty Markets. World Liberty Financial would publish the designated governance staking rewards address so that the community could independently monitor allocations, bi-weekly top-ups, total distributions, and remaining balances on-chain.
World Liberty Financial, a decentralized finance (DeFi) and digital asset platform, published the governance proposal on September 14, targeting a program launch of October 1, 2026 if it passes. World Liberty Financial would also commit to proposing at least one governance vote per calendar quarter to keep the participation requirement achievable.
The vote arrives as $WLFI governance has drawn broader scrutiny. Voting power is heavily concentrated among a small group of large holders, with the largest wallet alone accounting for nearly 13% of votes cast in a prior proposal, and the top four wallets controlling roughly 40% of total voting power. The close result in this latest ballot may reflect growing pushback from smaller holders on that dynamic.
The outcome remains uncertain. With voting running until September 28 and the community split within a single percentage point, either side could still carry the result.
