Polygon Sets New Monthly Fee Record

The Polygon (@0xPolygon) network generated $98,000 in on-chain fees last Saturday, setting a new monthly peak for revenue generation. The milestone reflects a broader upswing in network activity, with higher volumes on decentralized exchanges and increased stablecoin transfers identified as the primary drivers.

The record single-day figure adds to a strong run for Polygon's fee metrics in 2026. Earlier this year, the network earned over $1.7 million in total fees during January alone, lifted by a sharp rise in fee generation tied to expanded prediction market activity on Polymarket. That month also saw daily transactions climb to roughly 5.3 million, while daily active users reached about 1.4 million.

Stablecoin Activity Fuelling Growth

Stablecoin transfers have become a central pillar of Polygon's on-chain economy. The network processed approximately $79.25 billion in stablecoin transfers during May 2026, its second-highest monthly total ever, handling 198 million USD-denominated transactions and outpacing all other blockchains. Payment-focused projects built on Polygon generated $9.9 billion in transaction volume during the first half of 2026, a figure that already exceeded Polygon's total payment-related volume for the entire year of 2025.

The network's broader fundamentals have also been trending upward. Polygon closed Q2 2026 with 743 million transactions, an all-time network record, marking a 160% increase from the same period a year earlier. With cumulative stablecoin transfers exceeding $2.4 trillion and 99.99% uptime, the network has demonstrated reliability for enterprise-grade use.

The combination of rising DEX activity and surging stablecoin transfer volumes points to genuine demand growth on the network, rather than isolated spikes. Whether that translates into sustained fee records for $POL will depend on whether current usage trends hold through the remainder of 2026.
