Real Trump Coins Denies Authorizing Collapsed GOLD Token
Real Trump Coins, a licensed Trump merchandise brand, has denied launching or authorizing the Solana-based Trump Digital GOLD token after it collapsed nearly 99% amid on-chain evidence of heavy insider selling.
Real Trump Coins, a licensed Trump-branded merchandise company, has denied any involvement in the launch or promotion of Trump Digital GOLD, a Solana-based token that briefly surged before collapsing by nearly 99%.
The denial came after the Real Trump Coins X account promoted the Solana-based token and directed users to RealTrumpCoins(.)com, where GOLD was also advertised. The X posts were later deleted, while the account now links to a separate domain, TrumpCoins(.)com. "Trump Coins has not authorized and will not launch, promote, or authorize any digital token," the company said, adding that it was working with authorities to investigate.
The project attributed the promotion to "third-party bad actors," though the sequence of events raised questions. At the time the denial was posted, RealTrumpCoins(.)com still displayed the GOLD promotion.
On-Chain Data Points to Insider Selling
GOLD briefly reached a $66 million market cap after the Trump-affiliated merchandise account promoted it, before the token's market cap fell from $55 million to $1 million in about 30 seconds.
According to Lookonchain, data from the token launch reveals that 82.45% of the supply was held by developers and new wallets. Team wallets sold $330,000 worth of the token, netting $312,000 in profit. The developer held 600 million GOLD, while 15 new wallets spent $18,657 on another 224.5 million tokens. Those addresses together held 82.45% of supply. Half an hour later, the same 15 wallets sold everything for 3,178 SOL, worth about $330,000.
The concentration of GOLD's supply left buyers exposed to sales from a small wallet group. Once the holders of more than four-fifths of the supply exited, the token had few buyers capable of absorbing the volume entering the market.
No Trump Family Involvement Identified
Real Trump Coins' association with licensed Trump-themed merchandise does not establish that GOLD was approved by Donald Trump, his family, or the Trump Organization. Trump's verified accounts did not publicly promote GOLD. Nobody in the Trump family announced GOLD. Eric Trump had already denied new coin rumors a week earlier, on August 22.
The token is also separate from Official Trump, the Solana memecoin Trump promoted through his verified social media profiles in January 2025. No U.S. regulator or law enforcement agency has publicly identified GOLD's developers or wallet operators.
