Stellar blockchain continues to shatter records
Stellar's @StellarOrg hits $4B in cumulative real world asset market cap, with total on-chain tokenized assets and stablecoins reaching $4.43B as institutional adoption accelerates in 2026.
Stellar crosses $4B in real world asset market cap
@StellarOrg has reached $4 billion in cumulative Real World Asset (RWA) market capitalization, marking a significant milestone for on-chain finance. When reserve-verified stablecoins are included, the total on-chain market cap across the network rises to $4.43B, driven by issuers tokenizing a broad range of asset classes including US Treasuries, bonds, and equities.
The growth has been swift. The value of tokenized real-world assets on Stellar surged approximately 360% in 2026, reaching nearly $4 billion as of August 29, according to data from a Dune Analytics dashboard maintained by Stellar. To put that in context, Stellar's RWA value grew from $868.8 million at the end of the prior year to nearly $4 billion by late August 2026.
RWA liquidity and exposure on Stellar remain concentrated, with Spiko leading at approximately $1.55 billion, followed by Realiz, Tradable, Franklin Templeton, and Ondo. The asset mix spans US Treasuries, private and public credit, and non-US government debt, including tokenized Mexican CETES and Brazilian government bonds issued through Etherfuse.
Payment volumes and institutional momentum build
On the payments side, $XLM-based stablecoin activity is also accelerating. Stellar's stablecoin transfer volume reached an all-time high in Q2 2026, signaling real utility at scale. Earlier in the year, stablecoin payment volume reached $5.5 billion in Q1 alone, an all-time high and up 72% year over year.
MoneyGram launched its MGUSD dollar stablecoin on the network in June, allowing users to hold dollar-denominated balances and move funds through its global payments network. The stablecoin joins a reserve pool of $428.6M held by financial firms around the globe, underpinning the network's growing liquidity base.
Institutional integrations continue to deepen. In May, the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) announced plans to connect its tokenization service to Stellar, with DTC-tokenized assets expected to become available on the network in the first half of 2027. In July, tokenization platform Tradable announced plans to bring up to $1 billion in private credit assets to Stellar.
Despite the strong on-chain performance, Stellar's RWA and payment-related expansion is progressing even as $XLM underperforms on the year, suggesting broader tokenization momentum is not automatically translating into token price strength.
