World Launches "World Money" Financial Super App Across 150+ Countries
World Network officially launches World Money, a self-custodial financial super app offering stablecoin payments, yield, and cross-border transfers in more than 150 countries, with integrations including Bridge, Stripe, Kalshi, and Morpho.
One App for Payments, Yield, and Investing
@worldnetwork has officially launched World Money, a self-custodial financial super app now available in more than 150 countries. The platform, formerly known as Worldcoin, combines stablecoin payments, trading, earning, and virtual accounts in a single interface.
World Money supports balances in eight currencies and lets users send digital assets internationally. Stripe powers a new US funding flow that allows users to convert money from Apple Pay into stablecoins, typically within minutes.
The app combines self-custodial wallet functionality with features typically reserved for traditional banking apps, including payroll deposits, peer-to-peer transfers, and investment tools. The virtual account system is powered by @Bridge, enabling users to receive salaries and send funds across borders as simply as sending a text message.
What sets World Money apart from most competitors is its identity layer. World ID provides a sybil-resistant verification system built on iris scanning, which could prove valuable for compliance, fraud prevention, and tiered access to financial services. Users who verify with World ID unlock boosted rewards across the platform.
Mini Apps Bring DeFi and Prediction Markets Into One Place
Beyond payments and yield, World Money supports a growing ecosystem of third-party Mini Apps. The self-custody app plugs into Stripe, Kalshi, and Morpho, giving users access to prediction markets, decentralized lending, and portfolio tools, all within a single interface.
World is a project under Tools for Humanity, co-founded by Alex Blania and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. The company began building toward super app functionality in March 2025, when World added crypto payments and chat to its app, allowing users to send and receive crypto directly through conversations.
The launch positions World Money squarely in the expanding race to bring stablecoin-based financial services to mainstream users globally, competing with incumbents and fintech challengers alike at a time when regulatory frameworks for stablecoins are taking shape in major markets.
