Zebec's payroll product pays salaries by the second instead of at cycle end
Zebec Enterprise Payroll streams salaries continuously in stablecoins, letting employees withdraw earnings at any time rather than waiting for payday. Here is how it works and what it means for employers.
Pay that moves every second
Most payroll systems work the same way they always have: money accumulates over a cycle and lands in an employee's account on a fixed date. @Zebec_HQ is trying to change that. Its Enterprise Payroll product streams a salary continuously from the moment a pay cycle opens, so an employee on a $5,000 monthly package sees their balance tick upward in real time and can withdraw any portion whenever they choose.
The company frames this as a practical answer to payday lending. Rather than treating payroll as a periodic batch event, Zebec uses stablecoins to make pay programmable, supporting real-time streaming and partial payouts that more closely match how workers actually want to access their earnings. For employers, Zebec says the total cost stays the same: the salary is streamed rather than batched, with no surcharges or additional fees.
There is one important caveat. The model does not eliminate the funding requirement. The full cycle amount must sit in the company treasury from the outset, rather than being transferred only on payday. That is a liquidity consideration employers will need to plan for.
Stablecoins, ZBCN, and a growing product suite
Settlements on the platform are made in stablecoins. To make that work at enterprise scale, Zebec needed an internet-native dollar and, increasingly, a euro. It found that in USDC and EURC. Employees and contractors can receive funds instantly into digital wallets, spend through Zebec's Mastercard-powered cards, or convert digital dollars into local currency through the platform's global payout network.
$ZBCN is the token behind Zebec's products. Employers can pay Zebec's payroll processing fees in $ZBCN, or have fees auto-converted from stablecoin balances. The platform reports over $500 million in annual payroll volume, more than 250 enterprise clients, and over 50,000 monthly users.
Zebec was initially built on the Solana blockchain, leveraging Solana's high-speed and low-cost infrastructure to support scalable payment activity. The network has since evolved into a multi-chain ecosystem, with integrations across Base, Ethereum, BNB Chain, and NEAR. Several European institutions and multinational employers are already in final testing stages on Zebec's payroll rails, evaluating employee compensation, contractor payouts, and benefits distribution workflows.
