Tokenized equities land on Base

@Coinbase has officially launched tokenized stocks on @base, giving users around the world the ability to trade U.S. equities onchain, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Each token is backed 1:1 by an underlying share held in regulated custody with Alpaca under the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) framework. The tokens are composable across Base's DeFi ecosystem, meaning they can be used in lending, borrowing, and yield strategies beyond simple spot trading.

Through Chainlink Data Feeds, builders across the Base ecosystem have access to continuous pricing for Coinbase's tokenized stocks, including NVDAc, METAc, AAPLc, GOOGLc, and more. Base has confirmed that additional stock listings are coming soon.

Each tokenized stock is a B20 token, Base's native token standard for real-world assets, an extension of ERC-20, identified by its contract address rather than its ticker. The corresponding Chainlink feed reports the Total Return Value of the token by combining the underlying equity's market price with a multiplier read from Coinbase's onchain oracle registry.

Chainlink selected as official price infrastructure

Coinbase, the largest publicly traded digital asset exchange in the United States, has selected @chainlink as its official oracle infrastructure powering its newly launched tokenized stocks, unlocking utility and distribution across the Base DeFi ecosystem. The move brings $LINK price feeds directly into the new listings, establishing Chainlink as the standard data layer for onchain equity pricing on Base.

By selecting Chainlink as its official oracle solution, Coinbase is unlocking advanced 24/7 collateral management use cases, enabling millions of Base users to earn yield and borrow against U.S. stocks.

The launch arrives as tokenized equities become one of the fastest-growing categories in the real-world asset (RWA) sector. Tokenized equities reached a record $2.3 billion by mid-July 2026. Coinbase's entry, backed by regulated custody and institutional-grade oracle infrastructure, signals a push to bring that market further into the mainstream of onchain finance.
