Injective climbs 39% in a week as INJ leads mid-cap gainers
Injective's INJ token surged 39% in seven days, hitting $5.74 after its institutional arm secured SEC transfer agent registration and a Canary Capital staked ETF application remains pending.
Injective's native token $INJ has climbed 39% over the past seven days, making it one of the standout performers among mid-cap cryptocurrencies. The token was trading at $5.74 at time of writing, adding 9.4% in 24 hours, with trading volume up 62% to $132 million. The broader market, by comparison, gained only low single digits over the same period.
SEC Transfer Agent Registration Drives Sentiment
Much of the momentum traces back to a regulatory milestone reached last week. Injective Institutional Services is now registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as a transfer agent, marking a significant step in Injective's push to bring regulated financial and tokenized markets onchain. The entity can now operate within the federal transfer agent framework, supporting a core function of securities markets: maintaining ownership records and processing changes to them.
Injective submitted its Form TA-1 application to the SEC on July 16, 2026, with registration confirmed on August 19, a turnaround that suggests the SEC's approach to crypto-native entities seeking traditional financial licenses has become more streamlined. The registration positions @injective as one of the first layer-1 chains with the regulatory readiness needed to accelerate tokenization, strengthening crypto infrastructure links to traditional markets.
The SEC has stated that a registered transfer agent may use distributed ledger technology as its official master securityholder file, provided all applicable federal securities law requirements are met. That creates a path for the ownership record to update alongside settlement, so the onchain asset can become part of the authoritative recordkeeping system, rather than a digital copy of a separate database entry.
Canary Capital ETF Filing Still Pending
A separate regulatory catalyst is also in play. Canary Capital filed a registration statement with the SEC for the Canary Staked INJ ETF, marking the first proposed exchange-traded fund focused on Injective's native token. The fund would seek to provide exposure to the price of $INJ while earning additional tokens through staking on Injective's proof-of-stake blockchain. The Canary Capital staked INJ ETF remains filed under ticker INJS on Cboe BZX and has not yet begun trading.
If approved, the fund would list on Cboe and provide investors with exposure to the spot price of $INJ, while also offering the opportunity to earn additional yields through staking rewards. The application remains pending with the regulator, and no timeline for a decision has been confirmed.
Together, the transfer agent registration and the outstanding ETF application represent a concentrated push by @injective into regulated U.S. capital markets infrastructure, which is fuelling the current price advance.
