X Brings Trading Directly to Cashtags

From Conversation to Trade in a Few Clicks

X has launched its Cashtag Partner Program in the United States, connecting ticker symbols directly to live brokerage platforms. The program gives users a way to trade assets through partner brokerages directly after discovering and discussing them on the platform.

Cashtags turn ticker symbols for stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies into market information hubs, giving X users real-time access to market conversations and financial information. Cashtags launched on April 14, 2026, for iPhone users in the United States and Canada. The Cashtag Partner Program adds a direct trading layer on top of that foundation.

Users can tap on a supported Cashtag to view the asset's price chart and conversation, then select "Trade" to be directed to a participating brokerage, where they can sign in or register before completing the transaction. The actual transactions take place on the brokerage's platform. X does not execute, process, or custody the trades.

Five Launch Partners, Crypto Exchanges Included

The program launched with Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Gemini, Kraken, and Coinbase. The lineup combines traditional brokerages and regulated crypto exchanges, reflecting the broad range of assets, including stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies, that Cashtags already support.

David Farmer, Coinbase's vice president of product, said the integration helps users "go from discovery to decision-making and trading in just a few clicks." Through the partnership, users can seamlessly move from viewing a Cashtag and following the conversation on X to taking action through a brokerage with just a few clicks.

The launch comes as X moves to become an "Everything App," with X Money also rolling out earlier this year, offering peer-to-peer transfers, direct deposits, a debit card, and yields on balances. The Cashtag Partner Program is currently available to US-based users only.
