Arbitrum's native token $ARB surged 27.6% in 24 hours to trade at $0.2215 on Friday, according to CoinMarketCap data. The move extended a powerful run that has taken the token up nearly 56% over the past seven days and 165% over the past month. Daily trading volume reached $822 million.

Standard Chartered Initiates Coverage With Bold Price Target

The rally gained fresh momentum after Standard Chartered initiated coverage of $ARB with a $10 price target for the end of 2030. Arbitrum was trading at around $0.13 at the time, meaning the bank's end-2030 target implies a roughly 70-fold increase from that level. The token had already begun climbing before the note was widely circulated, but the institutional endorsement added a clear narrative to the move.

The bank also set interim targets of $0.50 by end-2026, $1.50 by end-2027, $3.50 by end-2028, and $6.50 by end-2029. In a note to clients, Standard Chartered's Global Head of Digital Assets Research Geoff Kendrick said the bank expects $ARB to outperform bitcoin and ether over the forecast period.

Standard Chartered's bullish outlook is partly based on Arbitrum's position as an infrastructure provider for companies seeking to move financial assets onchain. Through the Arbitrum Expansion Program, external blockchains can use Arbitrum's technology stack, and in return Arbitrum receives a rolling fee equal to 10% of each participating chain's net protocol revenue.

Robinhood Chain Adds Substance to the Rally

Standard Chartered said Arbitrum's monthly revenue could reach about $5 million in September after the launch of Robinhood Chain, more than five times the level seen before the chain went live. Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum Layer 2 built on Arbitrum technology, set a new all-time high for daily decentralised exchange volume at $874.8 million on August 30, 2026.

Standard Chartered said Arbitrum could benefit if the tokenized asset market grows and more traditional financial firms move on-chain, while also citing the lack of a direct link between the $ARB token and revenue, along with competition, as risk factors. Arbitrum is also scheduled for a major token unlock on September 23, 2026, with around 139 million ARB expected to enter circulation, representing roughly 1.4% of the total supply, which could create selling pressure.

The combination of institutional coverage and ecosystem-level revenue growth has given $ARB one of the clearest fundamental narratives among Ethereum layer-2 tokens this cycle. Whether the token can sustain gains above $0.22 will depend on how well that story holds up against near-term supply headwinds.
