Cashcat Just Hit a New All-Time High
Cash Cat ($CASHCAT), the leading memecoin on Robinhood Chain, has surged 108% this week and reached a new all-time high of $0.2288, with a market cap near $215.7 million according to CoinGecko.
Cash Cat ($CASHCAT), the dominant memecoin on Robinhood Chain, has surged 108% over the past seven days and posted a new all-time high of $0.2288, per TradingView data. The token added another 52% in the 24 hours leading up to the record, an unusually sharp move even by memecoin standards, and one that came against a backdrop of broader market weakness.
CASHCAT's market cap now stands near $215.7 million, according to CoinGecko, making it the largest memecoin on the network by a wide margin.
A Memecoin Built on a Piece of Startup History
The token's name is rooted in Robinhood's own origin story. Back in 2010, Robinhood co-founders Vlad Tenev and Baiju Bhatt used CashCat as a working name for their trading startup before settling on the Robinhood brand, a detail that surfaced in a New Yorker profile and circulated among startup history enthusiasts for years. When Robinhood Chain launched, community developers deployed a token using that discarded name on the new network. The project claims no official affiliation with Robinhood.
Robinhood Chain launched on July 1, 2026, as an Ethereum Layer 2 built on Arbitrum technology, positioning itself as a platform for real-world assets and tokenized stocks. What came as a surprise was the explosion of memecoin activity, headlined by CASHCAT's breakout success. Memecoins now account for 79.2% of Robinhood Chain's DEX volume as of late July.
Robinhood Lists the Token, Rally Follows
Robinhood officially listed $CASHCAT on August 6, 2026, in the Robinhood app and Robinhood Legend, the platform's advanced trading interface. The listing marked an unusual step for a weeks-old community memecoin, bringing it into Robinhood's mainstream brokerage product. To be clear, a listing means Robinhood made the token tradable, not that it created, endorses, or vouches for it.
The latest leg higher continues a trend that began at launch. Fake accounts and cross-chain copies of the token have emerged since its initial surge, and investors are being urged to verify contract addresses before transacting. The token's sharp gains also serve as a reminder of how quickly sentiment can shift in the memecoin space, with price and market cap figures that can move materially within hours.
