From GPU Marketplace to Application Layer

Janction (@JanctionMGT), the decentralized GPU computing project developed by JasmyLab, is taking a significant step beyond its core infrastructure offering. The team has unveiled a new service called Smart Render, which applies distributed GPU computing specifically to 3DCG animation and video rendering workloads.

According to test results published by JasmyLab, the technology delivers a 94% reduction in processing time compared with traditional centralized server farms. In practical terms, a 4K animation that would take 4 hours and 10 minutes on a conventional setup can be completed in as little as 15 minutes using Smart Render.

The development signals a deliberate shift in strategy. Rather than simply selling raw GPU capacity through its GPU Pool service, Janction is now building application-specific services on top of that infrastructure, targeting the needs of creators and production studios directly.

Broader Context: Janction's Growing Ecosystem

JasmyLab Inc., headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, operates JANCTION as its GPU computing project. Janction ($JCT) is a Layer 2 blockchain project focused on creating a decentralized computing marketplace for AI workloads by leveraging idle GPU and compute resources.

Operating under the concept of an "Airbnb for GPUs," JANCTION is designed to connect distributed computing resources around the world and accelerate AI development, responding to growing GPU demand driven by the widespread adoption of generative AI.

Earlier in 2026, JANCTION entered into a business partnership with Swan Chain, a decentralized AI infrastructure project, to expand its computing capacity. It has also signed an MOU with creative company V01D, aiming to expand the creator ecosystem and jointly promote the use of distributed GPU technologies.

The $JCT token sits at the centre of the ecosystem, with primary utilities including paying for GPU compute resources on the marketplace, staking by hardware providers, participating in governance, and distributing rewards to network participants.

Smart Render represents the clearest example yet of Janction moving up the value chain, from infrastructure provider to end-to-end production tool. If the benchmark figures hold at scale, the service could present a compelling alternative for studios and independent creators priced out of centralized rendering infrastructure.
