SettleMint is bringing crypto custody to Asia-Pacific Institutions via Ripple
Ripple and SettleMint have launched a joint platform combining institutional-grade digital asset custody with full lifecycle management for regulated financial institutions across Asia-Pacific.
A Unified Platform for Tokenized Assets
@Ripple and @SettleMintCom announced a strategic partnership on September 1, 2026, aimed at giving regulated financial institutions in the Asia-Pacific region a single, end-to-end platform for digital asset custody and lifecycle management.
The partnership integrates Ripple Custody, Ripple's institutional-grade digital asset custody infrastructure, and SettleMint's DALP (Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform). Together, the two systems allow banks, market infrastructure operators, and sovereign entities to create, manage, and settle tokenized assets within one regulatory-compliant environment, removing the need to stitch together separate tools for custody, issuance, and governance.
Fiona Murray, managing director for Asia Pacific at Ripple, said traditional finance wants to put digital assets to work without having separate systems for custody, issuance, and governance. "This partnership gives them the foundation to roll out digital assets and future-proof them from there: Ripple Custody to hold and govern the asset, and SettleMint to manage its entire lifecycle," she added.
Ripple Custody has continued to expand its capabilities over the past year through new partnerships with Securosys and Figment, integration with Chainalysis, and the acquisition of Palisade, giving banks, fintechs, and corporates a faster, less complex way to secure digital assets, stablecoins, and real-world assets.
Eyes on an $88 Trillion Market
Ripple and SettleMint have already commenced their partnership offering in Asia and plan to extend this to other markets as institutional demand develops. Asia-Pacific already contains several regulated tokenization programs involving banks, asset managers, and market infrastructure providers, with Singapore supporting institutional experiments covering tokenized funds, stablecoin settlement, and programmable collateral.
The market opportunity underpinning the deal is substantial. In Boston Consulting Group's report, "The Future of Digital Assets," published in May 2026, the firm projects that tokenized real-world assets could reach $88 trillion by 2035. That figure, which represents roughly 16% of global investable assets under BCG's progressive scenario, is a forecast rather than a current market measurement or company-confirmed target. The report also warns that traditional banks failing to adapt to this digital shift face a potential 30% reduction in profits by 2035.
For now, the joint offering is focused on Asia-Pacific. The partnership announcement provided no named customers, implementation dates, pricing, or transaction volumes. Both companies have indicated plans to expand into additional regulated markets as institutional demand grows.
